League and tournaments in the path duel
A league every week, a tournament every Wednesday and every weekend. Here is how everything works and what you can win.
Updated
The league
The league runs every week from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 (German time). There are five leagues: Clearing, Grove, Ridge, Crest and Summit. Everyone starts in Clearing.
- With "Join the league" or your first league duel of the week you are placed in a group of 8.
- Places without people are filled by the AI, always marked "AI". When another person joins, they take over an AI place.
- Everyone plays everyone once: against people turn-based (24 hours per round) or live after a request (30 seconds per round), against AI places right away.
- Win 3 points, draw 1, loss 0. Whatever is still open on Sunday is finished by the AI and marked.
Promotion and relegation: places 1 and 2 go up, from Ridge upward the last 2 go down. Nobody is relegated from Clearing or Grove. If you finished no game, you stay in your league.
Prizes: places 1 to 3 get 1 to 4 boosters depending on the league, higher leagues more. League games do not change your matchmaking rating.
The tournaments
| After-work tournament | Weekend tournament | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Wednesday 19:00 to 22:00, live | Saturday 10:00 to Sunday 22:00, turn-based |
| Rounds | 3 (19:00, 20:00, 21:00) | 5 (Sat 10:00, Sat 17:00, Sun 00:00, Sun 07:00, Sun 14:00) |
| Time | show up within 10 minutes of the round start, then 30 seconds per move | at most 12 hours per move, never beyond the end of the round |
| Classes | Beginners (Clearing, Grove), Advanced (from Ridge) | Beginners (Clearing, Grove), Advanced (Ridge, Crest), Masters (Summit) |
| Boosters for places 1 / 2 / 3 | 2 / 1 / 1 | 3 / 2 / 1 |
Times are German time. Sign up with one tap until the start. Pairings use the Swiss system: each round you meet someone with a similar score, never the same opponent twice. With fewer than 4 people in a class the AI fills up. Without sign-ups the tournament is cancelled with a notice.
On top there is a tournament badge next to your name for one week and, for everyone who plays at least 2 rounds themselves, the tournament's promo card. AI places get nothing.
Fair for everyone
- Rarity gives no advantage in league and tournaments.
- AI places are always marked.
- Cards are never at stake, and there is no entry fee.
Tips
- Play your league games early in the week. Whatever is open on Sunday is played by the AI for you, and a game without a move of your own counts as lost.
- Punctuality matters in the after-work tournament: after 10 minutes the clock runs.
