The 10 rarities explained

From wood to ivory: every rarity has its own frame, its own odds and, from Legendary upward, a fixed print run. Here is everything at a glance.

Odds per card

A booster has 5 cards, and each gets its rarity independently of the others. The percentages apply per card, not per booster.

How to spot the rarity

The frame gives it away: wood, moss wood, silver, platinum, brass, gold, ebony, red lacquer and ivory. The name plate shows 1 to 5 diamonds from Common to Epic and stars from Legendary upward.

From Epic upward every card also carries its own effect: Epic a violet shimmer in the frame, Legendary a golden edge with twinkling stars, Secret a rainbow edge with holo stripes, Mythic a turquoise edge with rising sparks, Divine and One of a kind rays of light behind the artwork.

Numbers and print runs

From Legendary upward every card is numbered, for example #7 of 250. The print run applies per motif: 250 Legendary Dragons, 100 Secret, 25 Mythic, 5 Divine and exactly one One of a kind. If a motif's print run in a tier is used up, the card is drawn one tier lower. Numbers given out stay given out, even if someone deletes their data.

What rarity does in play

Less than many expect, and that is on purpose:

Rare cards are mainly something to collect, show off and trade.

Crafting and breaking down

Up to Epic you can craft any motif in the workshop with sparks, without number and variant. Legendary and above can never be crafted. Numbered cards can be broken down by hand: Legendary gives 400 sparks, Secret 800, Mythic 2000, Divine 5000, One of a kind 10000.

Secret is not a secret motif

Two terms that often get mixed up: Secret is one of the 10 rarities, and every motif can appear in it. Secret motifs are extra motifs numbered beyond the set size that only turn up from Epic upward. We don't reveal which ones exist: you only find them in the game.

Fair and verifiable
