Field note: Meadow Rooter

Morning still lies low over the meadowland, and the grass carries dew.

Today I come across a Meadow Rooter — large · piebald · antennae · sparks.

A rooter digs itself in up to its head when threatened. What sticks out of the ground looks like a very serious stone.

If you want to meet one yourself: Meadowland, Steppe. It cannot be caught — only won over.
