Field note: Sand Spike

In the desert every dune casts a sharp shadow, and the sand sings quietly.

Today I come across a Sand Spike — slender · dotted · fins · wreath.

A spike puffs up if you approach too fast. Walk slowly and you can watch the spines soften.

If you want to meet one yourself: Desert. It cannot be caught — only won over.
