Field note: Dust Rooter
The air shimmers over the steppe, and the wind carries dust in fine banners.
Today I come across a Dust Rooter — round · striped · ears.
A rooter digs itself in up to its head when threatened. What sticks out of the ground looks like a very serious stone.
If you want to meet one yourself: Steppe. It cannot be caught — only won over.
