Field note: Frost Bud
In the mountains every step rings on rock, and the air grows thin and clear.
Today I come across a Frost Bud — tiny · piebald · ears · wreath.
Buds stay shut as long as you watch. Look away and wait, and you hear a soft pop.
If you want to meet one yourself: Mountains, Glacier. It cannot be caught — only won over.
